Three natural products that have helped my baby through sickness!
Three Natural Products To Help Soothe
Your Sick Baby!
Today I have a post far from DIY crafts & along the lines of “how I soothed my sick baby with natural products.”
My little man is sick. Not just a runny nose, but a croaky throat cough, congested chest, & a cry that barely sounds because he is losing his voice.
My son, being legitimately ill for the first time, has made me feel absolutely horrible because there is nothing that I can do. He can’t have cough meds and most things used to soothe can’t be used until he is at least 1 years old- he is only 7 months.
So last night I went to Target- my hangout spot- and found 3 items for him to use that have helped so much!
1. Zarbee’s Naturals, baby, Cough Syrup + Mucus SERIOUSLY THIS SHIT ROCKS SO HARD!! There is no honey so I didn’t have to worry about that & there are no medicinal ‘drugs’ in it (since babies cannot have legitimate cough medicine.) I was honestly really skeptical about it because holistic products don’t always work (sometimes just a load of shit), but I needed to try something- I’m glad I did. I give it to him every 4 hours & he is able to nap easily, he isn’t as congested, & he seems to have some throat relief.
2. I needed a product like vicks vapor rub & I found another natural alternative for my little dude. I bought Maty’s Baby Chest Rub, which is petroleum & menthol free- PLUS it has some fuckin awesome natural ingredients in it, like coconut oil, lavender & chamomile. I rub some onto his chest along with some onto his feet, with some socks over that. This stuff smells fantastic & seems to do some work for him!
3. Nasel spray was a must & I found Pedia Mist saline spray (I purchased from Target, but can only find the online link to walgreens). I honestly chose this one because it was on sale for $3.99 AND it had a “save $2” sticker on it, so I only paid $1.99 for it. It works so great! I use it whenever he seems a bit snotty. I have him sit in my lap & spray into each side- which makes him cough a little and swallow, but it loosens anything out. Also, because it loosens his boogies up, I can take my NoseFrida to suck out the rest of the goobers! (everyone purchase a nosefrida. I know it seems gross, but it’s the fuckin tits-seriously.)
I also give him some Little Remedies at night time just for a little extra pain relief for him.
Welp, this is my little baby soothie sickie remedy!
